I made this bag for my secret sister at church. it is a water bottle bag. So its just big enough you hold a water bottle. and it can reverse. it also can be used as just a small purse too. i hope she likes it.... andy said my stitchin was soo good that I dont need a new sewing machine.... (note to self: mess up big time on the stitchin of the next project)...lol just kidding, I have a good machine now, just want to major upgrade...........

This looks blue on my screen but its actually purple. Im not sure what Im making this into, but its a crocheted piece ive been working on here and there. Its made with chenille yarn. I plan to just keep going with it and plan as I go and see what happens....

Well this is a paper pieced project. Its only like 5*7 inches or so. I really enjoyed doing this and cant wait to make something with more of a picture in it. I tried paper piecing before but it came out all messed up and so i gave up, but this weekend was a sew and quilt festival and i went to it and met a nice couple who taught paper piecing so I thought id give it another try. I am happy I met someone who could teach a easier way to do this......

Close up of the back, i hand stitched the binding in the back, i think i did a pretty good job.....

I made curtains for the school room today! Man did i have a hard time, You would think that this would be easy for me, but I had to use the seam ripper ALOT! I wanted this to be straight and it kept gettin curked. So I ended up using my serger and serged all the edges then turned under and sewed....whew, Im glad these are done. School starts after next week. Summer break wasnt long enough, but we are takin off in Sept so all is good:)

Update on my Craft Life

Well I havent been doing much for the past week and half. Cant ya tell? well anyway, I worked on my brother Stevens quilt week and half ago and forgot to update my WIPS bar...lol go figure..... anyways, the other day I was sewing a friend of mines husbands work shirt for her and while she waited I let her browse my Quilting journal. She noticed the craft bag that I made for Jenn and requested one.:) So I started on that tonite. I went to the quilt shop today to get fabric for my queen sized quilt Im making for my bed and well she is going to get bk with me on the yardage needed to make the one I want cux the amount she came up with first was like 11 yds of fabric just for the top. well that is lookin at over 100.00 bucks so we need to rethink this and make sure.... I also went looking for fabric for my friends baby Joshua. Well C, I cant find trains. Unless you want Thomas and I honestly wasnt really diggin the fabric for it either, so can you refresh my memory of what else you like. I did see a Train prequilted fabric but that is cheating and would be too easy to do. I want to make something special. anyways, let me know. I also went to the quilt shop to talk about my Janome Challenge and she is willing to go over my ideas with me and help me get it going.... so yippee!!!! I think that is all in my craft life to update. Off to watch some Tv and then sew some more, maybe! Oh yea I forgot I was talking to Andy today and I told him How I havent sewn in almost 2 weeks and he was like "you better get to sewing" and I was like "why do you care if I sew" he said cux when I get home you anit gonna be sewing" I said "why" he said "You will be doing other things" LOL ................I love my husband and cant wait for him to get home so we can get to doing "other" things........LOL

You cant really tell what I did in this pic. but I swirled around the letters in jenns and loopy around my block then stippled reallly close together on doreens block and stippled really big on christi's block. You know I love pink so i had this dark pink and used it! Its not centered over the door frame but this was hard enough to get up there. maybe when andys home he can help me get it more centered....I want to Thank My friends Christi, Doreen and Jennifer for helping make this come true for me! I really wanted to have something made from each of them hanging in my sewing area. I love it and thank you very much!

yippe their done!

From across the room.

Our church had a secret sister thing and I got to be part of the planning for it. My friend Stephanie suggested we make the bags out of fabric so that when its all done they can keep the bags too. Well wouldnt you know it, her machine is broke....LOL.....so guess who made all 27 bags....lol.... yep me.... but I think that the women were blessed by the whole event and Im happy that I got to be part of it. They will always have a bag from me, unless ofcourse they throw it away....lol anyways here they are!

Here is one of the bags laying flat and open

My Wife the Quilter

My Wife, The Quilter
She learned to quilt on Monday
Her stitches were very fine.
She forgot to thaw out dinner,
So we went out to dine.

She sewed miniatures Tuesday.
She says they are a must.
They really were quite lovely,
But she forgot to dust.

On Wednesday, it was a sampler.
She says the stripping's fun.
What highlights! Oh what shadows!
But the laundry wasn't done.

Her charm quilt was on Thursday,
Green patches, blue and red
Guess she really was engrossed:
She never made the bed

It was wall hangings on Friday,
In colors she adores
But she never seemed to notice,
The crumbs on all the floors.

I found a maid on Saturday!
My wife is now complete.
My wife can quilt the hours away:
The house will still be neat,

Well, it's already Sunday.
I think I'm about to wilt.
I cursed, I raved, I ranted...
The MAID has learned to Quilt!!!!!

We are the Janome Jedis - Imagination is our only limitation

Here is my daddys Fathers day gift. It is a wallhanging, which I hope he hangs it up. This thing took me long time. and I really wanted to change it about half way through but couldnt unless I started over. I hope he likes it. I used stippling and stitch in the ditch. Mock binding and label on the back....

Close up of the stippling, I really love to do this technique, I think Im gettin better!

The back of the quilt, my tension must be off, some of the thread from the front was showing on the back.....
