Well I made this to experiment with. I want to make these to sell and possibly to expand and make cloth books about babies birth. I need to make each of the kids one so that I can hang these over their pictures in the hall:) Oh and I messed up the first time and put my Bday on it instead of Leias and had to seam rip it out, boy was that hard then realign it and do over the number date. Messed up that and had to do it again, but here it is, im not touchin it again...lol

This is the quilt that my neighbor asked me to make for her friend who is having a baby. She bought all the materials and is paying me to make the blanket. I embrodierd the name and year. Once agian it is the H block, she picked it out and its pooh like the one I made for a friend. I guess Pooh is popular! I also used mock binding on this, I plan to do mock binding on sebastains too.

Back of the quilt

My tag, ANdy says that I shouldnt put it on there, when I showed the lady she said "whats that" I told her and she said " oh ok".... should I ask her if she wants me to take it off?

Funny thing I read!

Thought quilters might relate to this!
A recent study indicated that fabric gives off certain Pheromones that actually hypnotize women and cause them to purchase unreasonable amounts. When stored in large quantities in enclosed spaces, the Pheromones (in the fabric) cause memory loss and induce the nesting syndrome (similar to the one squirrels have before the onset of winter I.e. storing food), therefore perpetuating their species, and not having a population loss due to their kind being cut into pieces and mixed with others. Sound tests have also revealed that these fabrics emit a very high-pitched sound, heard only by a select few, a breed of women known as "quilters". When played backwards on an LP, the sounds are heard as chants, "buy me, cut me, and sew me". In order to overcome the so called "feeding frenzy effect" that these fabrics cause, one must wear a face mask when entering a storage facility and use ear plugs to avoid being pulled into their grip. (One must laugh, however, at the sight of customers in a fabric store, with WW2 army gas masks and headphones!).
Studies have also in dictated that aliens have inhabited the earth, helping to spread the effects that these fabrics have on the human population. They are called FABRIC STORE CLERKS. It's also been experienced that these same Pheromones cause a pathological need to hide these fabric purchases when taken home (or at least blend them into the existing stash), and when asked by significant other if the fabric is new, the reply is "I've had it for awhile."

I made myself another skirt. Its been awhile since ive made myself a skirt. I really like it. the lacey thing, i had to run the ribbon through it myself. It was simple for the most part. I plan to make more, only if Andy likes it.:) It has elastic for the waist, and I have it worn on my hips, cant stand things on my waist anymore.

closer look of the front:)

Here is the back of the skirt.

Here is Leias Easter dress:) all done!

Closer look at the front:)

The back of the dress. notice zipper:(

Here's a closer look at the bottom edge of the dress.

UGGGGG ZIPPERS!!!!

I hate em! I am workin on Leias Easter dress and it calls for a zipper so I put in a invisible one, well when i got to zip it up, off comes the zipper thing.....so andy tries to put it bk on, it wont go bk on, so i have to cut it off , yea seam ripper wouldnt get it off, i had it really sewn in and serged it, lucklily the dress is kinda or was kinda big, so then i go to put a regular zipper in and realize they are zippers that are actually for scrapbooking...........so they are sticky!!!!!!!!!!!but i use it anyway.....its in but so not lookin really great but will work. I really dont like binding or zippers, but I have to say that zippers are better than binding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Will be done with the dress soon, i need to do the sleeves and I will be finished.

Here is a baby blanket I made for a friend of ours....She said she likes pooh and they are having a girl so here it is. Im sooo very dissappointed once again with my binding. I really need help with binding.....I stippled the entire blanket with a variegated thread. I am happy with that part...I hope she likes it and will use it to wrap her new bundle:) oh and this is the "H" block method.

Closer picture of the stippling work I did.....

Here is the quilting Journal I made myself. Jennifers turned out better, I made mine first...lol

Here is the inside, showing my first quilt I ever made:)

Ok this is Sebastains Desk. Before you start thinking oh poor bud he is degraded to this cux of my sewing area, rest assured this is what he wanted. he has been workin on the floor by his own choice for quite some time. So now he can still work on the floor and have a hard surface to write on. So he is happy with this.... and it works....:)

Updated crafting Life

Well I wanted everyone to know that I am making stuff. It is just taking me longer. Sebastians quilt is coming along great, it just takes alot of time making all those triangles. The top of the quilt is more than halfway done.:) Now that I have my embroidery machine, that has been taking up some time (me playing with it) I just finished basting a baby blanket Im quilting for a friend of ours that is having a baby girl very soon. Then after that one I will be starting another baby girl quilt for another friend of ours. Then after that one will be time to start on another friends baby quilt(I wont name names) l0l.....I have to label my soldiers quilt with the label I made and get it sent off. So as you can see, Im busy not only in my personal life but in my crafting life too!:) So much to do!:)

Here is my label done over again, you can see that the first part of my name is messed up agian, i had to lower the tension again, to 1. which seems low, i will be callin him on tues to make sure all is ok. the flower on top was me playing around with one of my built in designs. :)

Look what I made for Sebastain........He wanted this thing soo bad!!!! Doesnt it look nice!???? Just kidding, this is my next project....:)

Wednesday, February 22, 2006

Ok I have lots of pictures of this thing. I hope ya'll don't mind. LOL.....I am really happy with the way it looks in pictures and the majority of the quilt but IM ashamed of the binding, even though i did it right and better than before it still has many many screw ups.....Esp in the corners. It wouldnt "catch" on the bckside so i had to go over it again. a big pain and not as pretty. ONe of my fabrics got a hole in it and i had to sew over it. I still have to put a label on it, I want to use my embroidery machine and put my name etc on it, I will have to hand sew it on though so it doesnt go thru to the top. anyways, i will be sending it off to a wounded soldier. May it go to who ever the Lord sees fit. (and hope they like it) (and not show their grandma)lol

Quilt all done!
