My Peach Cobbler

This is the best peach cobbler and is very easy to make.
1 large or 2 small cans of peaches sliced
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup self rising flour
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
dash of cinnamin

Put butter in your baking dish, microwave to melt. Mix sugar, flour, milk and extract in a bowl. Pour into the melted butter. Drain peaches, arrange in the dish. Sprinkle cinnamin on top. Bake in 350 oven for 50-60 mins. Yum-O!

Wallhanging Gift

My sister was blessed, and was able to get her house expanded and have her very own sewing room. So to help her with decor I made her a wallhanging. Yes she could make it herself but I wanted something that was from me and showed my love for her. Click to enlarge...

My diaper attempt

I love amp diapers, well, I cant find anyone who will sell to me in the United States so I tried myself at making them. my serger messed up on me but other than that Im pleased with my first attempt.

Sara's Changing Table

This is just a peak at Saras changing station, the basket of dipes is usually underneath but I wanted them in pic.

Kids craft

Once a week we have craft day. Last weeks craft was making those things that you have to iron the beads and it seals it together. I had to practially do Emalys and helped Leia do theirs but they had a blast. Sebastain even joined us for this one. They wear them all the time....

What do you see?

Ok ladies, another picture story. Take a pic of what see when your standing at your sink...... The above picture is what I see while standing at my kitchen sink. I have my cutco knifes out of reach of little ones. I have my karinas kitchen thingy I made a long time ago, I have a playdough thing that Sebastian made me, I have a candle that never gets lit and picture of three of my kids, then the paper basket is something that Sebastian also made for me many years ago for Mothers Day all by himself and it means alot to me, Then hanging on the pegs are a wallhanging my friend Christi sent me for my birthday, a baby washcloth and a hotpad that I made while visiting family last year....

Now the rules are simple, take the pic now, dont doctor the area in which you see. Take it as is and let me know when you do so I may see.....

Coffee?

Here's me favorite coffee cup. When I was living back in North Carolina, my mother in law would make coffee on sunday afternoons for us to enjoy together. (She does this every afternoon, but also with us on Sunday as a family) Well I would always grab this coffee cup. So when we moved to Hawaii she gave me this cup. Everytime I drink coffee at home, I use this cup. Its my favorite and holds a special memory for me. Coffee with mom.

Do you have a favorite coffee cup? If so share yours with me. Let me know you posted one by commenting here. I look forward to seeing your cup and hearing its story.

Homemade Rolls

I have never tried my hand at homemade rolls until today. So Leia and I set out to make some together. Here are a few pics of us making them together. Even Sebastian and Emaly helped.

Leia so proud and melts my heart when she looks at me this way.
Leia kneeding the bread dough. I helped her. Even Sebastain wanted to help kneed.

Sebastain, Leia and Emaly all helped roll these out.

All Done.
* Edit- They tasted great, and Andy was impressed.....

More cloth napkins!

These match my kitchen perfectly. Yellow flannel on one side with the blue flower print on one side. I only made 4 right now but plan to make more. These are honestly the best way I have found so far at making cloth napkins.

The girls newest quilts

I finally got the girls quilts done that I had been working on. I designed each one myself. They are matching quilts but have different fleece backs and their own names on the quilts. I also appliqued their hand prints on the quilt. There is no middle layer.... I also handmade the ruffle that is around the quilt......

Leias quilt and what both look like on the front minus the different names and hand size.

Chemical Warning

Chemical Warning:

A recent study indicated that fabric gives off certain Pheromones
that actually hypnotize women and cause them to purchase
unreasonable amounts. When stored in large quantities in enclosed
spaces, the Pheromones (in the fabric) causes memory loss and
induces the nesting syndrome (similar to the one squirrels have
before the onset of winter i.e. storing food), thereby perpetuating
their species and not having a population loss due to their kind
being cut into pieces and mixed with others. Sound tests have also
revealed that these fabrics emit a very high pitched sound, heard
only by a select few, a breed of women know as "quilters". When
played backwards on an LP, the sounds are heard as chants, "buy me,
cut me and sew me". In order to overcome the so called "feeding
frenzy effect" that these fabrics cause, one must wear a face mask
when entering a storage facility and use ear plugs to avoid being
pulled into their grip. One must laugh, however, at the sight of
customers in a quilt fabric store, with WWII army gas masks and
headphones! Studies have also indicated that aliens have inhabited
the earth, helping to spread the effects that these fabrics have on
the human population. The are call QUILT FABRIC STORE CLERKS. It's
also been experienced that these same Pheromones cause a
pathological need to hide these fabric purchases when taken home (or
at least blend them into the existing stash), and when asked by
significant other if the fabric is new, the reply is 'I have had it
for awhile.'

Yesterday I was soooo bored and wanting to sew sooo bad, I sat and stared at my stash but didnt have enough to really do anything. I could have finished up Emaly nite time diapers but wasnt feelin that.... I started to work on a few outfits for the girls but didnt have all the stuff needed..Sooooo Today during naps I decided I NEEDED to sew.....So i finally got around to making a pillowcase dress. I have been wanting to for a long time now. I used pink ribbbon to tie on the arms and ribbon around the bottom and used my embroidery machine to applique the butterfly.... I really like this and plan to make Leia one too and many more I think.....:)
